IRE Web site expanding
Article Abstract:
Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) has established its own Web site that will help journalists and civilians find the information they need. A number of nonprofit journalism organizations contributed resources to the site, including IRE, Poynter Institute and Education Writers Assn. The site features a resource center containing over 11,000 print and broadcast stories. It also has a map of the US that will enable users to locate the investigate reporters and editors they wish to contact.

New initiatives planned
Article Abstract:
Investigative Reporters and Editors conducted two national conferences, several seminars, a Web site improvement program, an election of officers and a staff reorganization during the first half of 1997. The organization has also outlined new initiatives for enhancing membership services and educational programs. It will stage two national and two regional conferences in 1998.
