Paper intervenes in case to argue for public database
Article Abstract:
The Tulsa World, a newspaper, requested the federal judge to intervene in a federal discrimination lawsuit to protect the public's right of having access to records of such cases. Such a database would help the city to track arrests and other police stops, internal affairs investigations, complaints, civil suits, use of force and other issues by race of officer and citizen involved.

Budget proposal
Article Abstract:
In the year 2003, Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE's) budget saw increase in the funds to continue their endowment drive, in order to increase the cover of mandated employee health benefits. The IRE membership reached to 5000 and The IRE Database Library and Resource Center also increased their services significantly.
