President, networks agree on children's television measure
Article Abstract:
President Clinton and Commissioners of the Federal Communication Commission came to an agreement on how the Children's Television Act's requirement that television stations air three hours of educational programming per week will be implemented. The agreement identifies what programming must be aired to comply with the regulations. Stations will be required to complete and submit reports on the programming they air to meet the standards. Public television stations will be exempt from the regulations.
