Random thoughts on the art of interviewing
Article Abstract:
There are many techniques which can be of use to investigative journalists conducting an interview. The success of an interview depends greatly on the approach and line of questioning initiated by the reporter. One should also learn how to interpret the non-verbal messages manifested by the interviewee since they can show signs which would help verifythe story being related. When confronted with a subject who refuses to be interviewed, reporters should exhaust all means necessary to get the story.

Article Abstract:
A freelance investigative journalist offers advice to newspaper reporters considering freelancing. He feels that freelancing is more taxing and difficult and at the same time more rewarding than is commonly believed. Timely payments for the freelance contributions and variance in payments among the journals are detailed. Attempts to enter the electronic medium by several reputed publishing houses that will result in loss for the freelancers and gain for the magazines are also discussed.
