Wrestling producer's reporter not covered by reporter's privilege
Article Abstract:
The 3d Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Jul 1998 that a reporter who also presented promotional material for World Championship Wrestling was not protected by a reporter's confidentiality privilege. The dispute revolved around revealing sources for information disseminated over a 900-number phone line. The Court ruled that the information was entertainment, not news, and so could not be protected by a reporter's privilege.
