John C. Cramer, an experimental physicist, talks about a Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) puzzle and how he solved it. RHIC is a large accelerator project that accelerates heavy nuclei in opposite directions to nearly the speed of light and then brings them into collision, creating an ultra-hot fireball.

The carbon nanotube - miracle material

The unbelievable properties of a new material, a new form of carbon called carbon nanotube, discovered in 1991, are described. It reportedly conducts electricity better than silver or copper, is stronger than steel and compact enough to reach from Earth to Moon rolled up in a poppy seed.
