Article Abstract:
Home economics teacher Ardis Armstrong Young died on Apr 2, 1992. She was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Washington State University Faculty Excellence Award, and was also a leading member of organizations such as the Washington Home Economics Association. Another prominent home economist, Helen Halloway Hallbert, died on Jun 14, 1992. She was a specialist in food science and recipe development and had an illustrious career. Her name was added to the Home Economists in Business (HEIB) Hall of Fame plaque in 1987.

Vocabulary sets science fiction apart from other forms of literature. Scientific developments, however, have promoted the acceptance of science fiction terms and ideas. Science fiction also promotes literacy and makes the field of science more glamorous.
