10% to be laid off as Tektronix posts loss
Article Abstract:
Tektronix, a video, printer and test measurement manufacturer, has announced it will lay off 10% of its workforce worldwide and sell its network displays division in an effort to boost profits of the company. The announcement came after the company reported losses of $4.7 million for the first quarter of 1998, down from a profit of $26.7 million for the first quarter of 1997. Tektronix accounted much of the losses it acquired during the quarter to weak performance of its circuit board operations as well as to the financial crisis in Asia.
