BBC to slash jobs at 'Planet Earth' unit

Article Abstract:

The BBC is planning to retrench 57 out of the 180 posts at the Bristol natural history unit (NHU), the group behind the program "Planet Earth". This move is part of director general Mark Thompson's post-license fee cuts, and has outraged wildlife programming experts. The scope of the jobs cut and NHU's contributions to the BBC are given.

Spun Gold makes 140 hours of Titchmarsh

Article Abstract:

ITV1 has signed a two-year commissioning deal with producer Spun Gold TV to produce 140 hours of "The Alan Titchmarsh Show" which will run for 60 minutes per episode. The show will be aired from Monday to Friday at its 3pm slot, and will run from January 2008 to early 2009. The features of the commissioning deal are discussed.
