Billinger lands Sky interactive role

Article Abstract:

Sky Television has appointed Steve Billinger to assume the newly-formed position of director of interactive programming. Billinger, who previously worked as Microsoft Network producer responsible for the reintroduction of the Computer Channel as [.tv], will report to Elisabeth Murdoch, BSkyB's general manager and director of programming. In his new position, Billinger is anticipated to concentrate on chief programming fields that include children's entertainment, education and sport. The interactive services of Sky are consisted of Sky Interactive, the Internet site Sky Online and Sky Text, the teletext service that is also supplied to Channel 5.

The experiences and problems faced by the crew, which included commissioning editor Simon Dickson, documentary maker Nick Godwin and cameraman Stephen Robinson, while filming Channel 4's documentary "Trouble in Paradise: the Pitcairn Story", are discussed. The documentary is on the six Pitcairn Island men who were convicted in a sex scandal.
