Channel 4 (C4) a UK televsion station has a new Chief Executive Michael Jackson who moved from his job as Controller of BBC 1 in May 1997. Some observers suggest he changed jobs because of the increased salary he would receive at C4 and that he would be able to work more independently. There are several candidates to take over as Controller of BBC 1 such as Dawn Airey, Peter Salmon and Marcus Plantin. Jackson may choose to recruit his own director of programs at C4 and it is speculated that some commissioning editors may lose their jobs.
