CWC launches GBP 9.99 basic-plus package

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has introduced an analog programming package beginning Oct. 5, 1998, that allows customers to avail of five basic channels and premium services for 9.99 pounds sterling per month. CWC's access package include a phone line, five terrestrial services, a local channel as well as access to ITV2, UK Horizons, BBC News 24 and Sky News. Subscribers will likewise have a choice of adding up to six of seven themed programming packages. The CWC offer marks the first time that customers will be able to buy into premium channels without having to pay for a basic package of 30 or more services.

Transmedia books place at restaurant

Transmedia Productions has won several contracts to produce several television programs including a documentary from Carlton Television. Carlton Television has commissioned Transmedia to produce two 2 x 30-minute documentaries for its First Edition slot. The other contracts calls for the production of Raising the Titanic slated for the launching of White's new Soho restaurant, Football Foreign Legion to be directed by Transmedia's Danny Fenton, 3 x 30 minute programs for Channel 4, 26 x 30-minute series for On Digital and a 10-minute pilot for a food series on Channel 4.
