Sex and the single gene

Article Abstract:

The notion that a gene exists that could predispose people to homosexuality has some positive aspects. Biological explanations can help provide gay people with an identity, and are preferable to the view that homosexuality is immoral behavior carried out by heterosexuals. The notion that homosexuals are biologically different can help straight people to distance themselves enough from gay people not to feel threatened, but to accept their behavior.
