Doctor is light years ahead of Emmerdale

BBC1's "Doctor Who" has beaten ITV1's "Emmerdale" on Christmas Day, with the former attracting an average of 12.2 million viewers or 50% share. "Emmerdale" meanwhile took in 5.8 million or 24% share during the same 6:50p.m.-8p.m. timeslot. The ratings of other television programs over the holiday season are discussed.
