Football kicks off ratings hike

Article Abstract:

Sky Sports 1's share for the week ending 12 August was 2.2%, up from 1.5% the previous week. The rise was due to the start of English Premier League games, which Sky Sports 1 aired. Ratings for BBC and Setanta, which also aired Premier League matches, are also given.

FA Cup's big gunners shoot to win on BBC1

BBC1's television coverage of the FA Cup saw a "first-rate audience" during the week of May 23, 2003. BBC1's coverage of the Southampton-Arsenal football match was viewed by 8.3 million people, the biggest audience for the FA Cup final since 1999.
