High Court refuses Virgin TV C5 appeal
Article Abstract:
Virgin TV has failed in its attempt to persuade the Independent Television Commission that its decision to award the U.K.'s latest analogue terrestrial television channel to Channel 5 was flawed. A High Court judge rejected Virgin's claim that it was unfairly ruled out of the bidding when the commission decided that its programming plans were of insufficient quality. It is expected that C5B will begin broadcasting from January 1997.
