Indie commissioners find new BBC home

Article Abstract:

The restructuring of the BBC will probably mean that its independent commission executives are retained and based within the new Broadcast directorate, according to Mark Thompson, controller designate of BBC2. However, it is unlikely that the Broadcast directorate will employ large numbers of high powered commissioning executives. At present, independent commissioning executives operate in the factual, drama and entertainment departments.

ITV plans major mobile push

ITV has commissioned multiplatform production company Hub TV to create 50 2-minute episodes of "The Gym", a new comedy program that will be shown in mobile phones. The network, through ITV Mobile, is planning to offer more original content for mobile phones. The features of the new show are also discussed.
