Making breaking news
Article Abstract:
The race among broadcasters to be the first to break the news is often risky, because news editors have to monitor and edit incoming material to adhere to guidelines on what can be shown and cannot be broadcast. News and basics of journalism remain important, with the need to verify the source, validate the facts and the sensitiveness of the story. The risk with broadcasting running stories is that journalistic ethics could be violated.
