Rank mulls Deluxe sale as profits dip
Article Abstract:
Rank may sell its Deluxe Entertainment Services, a video duplication-to-studios division, after the latter posted a 17% profit decline. Rank, which also received the resignation of its CEO Andrew Teare in the week before the week including November 6, 1998, if sold with Denham Film Laboratories and Rank's video duplication services in the US and the UK could be worth up to 1 billion pound sterling. Speculations include that the management or Rank's former head of leisure division John Garrett could offer to buy the group.

MacKenzie to take Talk in August
Article Abstract:
A consortium led by Kevin MacKenzie is nearing the conclusion of its negotiations for the ownership of CLT's Talk Radio station beginning August 1998. CLT is expected to accept the 25 million pounds sterling bid by MacKenzie's group for its 62.3% in the station, though the amount is less than the asking price of 37 million pounds sterling. A source said MacKenzie's camp, which is comprised of Talk shareholder MVI and News International, will enter exclusivity discussions and due diligence by mid-July 1998.
