Orsten powers
Article Abstract:
Allowing people to establish themselves in television can be very enjoyable, according to Paramount Comedy Channel Deputy Managing Director Tony Orsten. He has devoted a lot of time to nurturing new talent, and believes that this talent is now set to enter mainstream television. He has boosted Paramount's profile through a series of development and co-production deals with terrestrial broadcasters, an approach which allows the company to offset its costs. He is keen to see increased investment in domestic talent and in seeking gifted writers.

The entertainment department at Channel 4 has suffered from poor staffing levels, and there have been few successful programmes.
