PPV art film operator is near launch

A new pay-per-view broadcasting is expected to begin launch on BSkyB's digital platform this summer. The ventures has backing from Pearson Television and Deutsche Bank. The new service has signed deals with 15 film distributors, including Universal Studios Pay Television, and independent producers as well. The goal is to offer U.K. television viewers premieres of films from Hollywood and other locations.

New tax breaks for film industry

United Kingdom's government has recently allowed film producers to offset some of their production costs against tax liabilities. The move has been applauded by the film production industry. In this context, the implications of existing tax credits for the film industry are compared with those of the new tax policy.
