Protecting paddlefish from overfishing: a case history of the research and regulatory process

Article Abstract:

An assessment of paddlefish stock in a commercial fishery in the Tennessee River is presented. The fishery, which was unregulated through the 1990, contributed to the criticisms on the Tennessee paddlefish industry. The processes involved in presenting research findings to state and federal regulators and fishing communities, are also presented.
