Selling the European experience

Article Abstract:

The Monte Carlo TV Market, set to open in Monte Carlo in February 1997, is regarded by many British program distributors as being unnecessary to their requirements as they prefer to focus on the more important rivals Mip-TV and Natpe. However, UK broadcasters are likely to maintain a small presence at the festival to ensure that no opportunities are missed. Channel 4's Mairi MacDonald, head of acquisitions, says that little European material is suitable for prime time British TV, with most interest expected in US programming.
