Storm at ITC over executive pay rises

Article Abstract:

Independent Television Commission's (ITC) seven division heads face grievance from their staff over their annual pay increase of 3.6%, which is just below the headline inflation rate. The staff also appear displeased that in contrast, the division heads received a 30% increase in their annual pay. The employees are seeking an increase that is near to 5% because of the extra work done in relation to handling Channel 5, digital television and a climbing number of cable channels. Representatives from broadcasting union Bectu have already twice undergone talks with ITC Human Resources Head Chris Harman.
