Taking an independent stand

Article Abstract:

Over 40 British producers and distributers will be represented at the NATPE '96 programme market in Las Vegas this year, an increase of approximately 200% on 1995 figures. Flight and floor rental subsidies have been sited as a major incentive to companies setting up exhibitions at this event for the first time. New markets are developing within the industry with the introduction of niche cable channels, featuring topics such as gardening and cookery. Children's television programmes are another growth area.
