The BBC baroness

Article Abstract:

Baroness Barbara Young of Scone has been appointed vice-chairman of the BBC, replacing Lord Cocks. Young will play a key role in appointing a new director general for the BBC along with chairman Sir Christopher Bland, John Birt and all the governors. Young is also a non-executive director at Anglia Water and the chairman of English Nature. The Baroness' career includes work for the National Health Service.

The battleground for BBC1 now its hunt has ended

BBC1's new appointee Jay Hunt will have to retain the lead in all-hours share and primetime share. ITV's Emmerdale suffered its lowest week night rating with 7.4 million/35% and 5.6 million/20% on Sundays with the success of BBC's One Show and Strictly Come Dancing.
