The year 2004 witnessed the awesome rise of the digital television network Freeview, with almost 4 million homes going in for the free-to-view service. The sales of Freeview boxes, outnumbering Sky's boxes by ten to one, are posing a serious threat to the business of the latter's pay-TV service.
