The cop: waiting for good dope

Article Abstract:

The media has been responsible for perpetuating the myth that drugs mainly a problem in the urban ghetto. The 'War on Drugs' rhetoric used by the Reagan and Bush administrations is being accepted as the truth by the media and used to incite public opinion in support of this campaign. Statistics for 1989 indicate that only 3,000 deaths could be attributed to drugs while 48,000 deaths resulted from alcohol and 400,000 from tobacco, both of which are legal.

The culture of Viagra

The potency pill Viagra has been called the most popular drug in pharmaceutical history and US doctors have written 1.7 mil prescriptions since its introduction to the market on Mar 27 1998. The drug's share price has doubled since the beginning of the year and many governments are approving its sale faster than any drug in history.

Benjamin Harkarvy (1930-2002)

Benjamin Harkarvy, a director at the Dance Division of the Julliard School of Music is remembered for his various dance directions. Some of the greatest ballet directors have commemorated him at his memorial.
