UK drama defects to the eastern bloc

Article Abstract:

BBC and ITC are increasingly choosing Prague as a venue to make major productions, since more and more British period dramas are being shot on location in one of the former eastern bloc states. Three favored nations, Lithuania, Romania and Czech Republic are taken into consideration and their pros and cons are examined in terms of their favorableness for major production venues.

A trend seen in television production is filming on location, as the cost of shooting in the United Kingdom is rising. The experiences of producers from Box TV, Pioneer Productions, Raw Television, Tiger Aspect and Red Productions with filming on location, and the benefits of doing so, are given.

First order for Farmbrough indie
