ITK's millenium machine limbers up for IBC debut
Article Abstract:
ITK (U.K.) is currently developing a new high-definition telecine with the University of Alabama at Huntsville, and others. The telecine, codenamed Millennium Machine, will be part of a larger hardware package that is expected to sell for #22,000. The telecine's prototype will be debuted at the September IBC. The device is described as more like a film scanner than other telecine devices currently available.

Quantel unveils newsroom 'first'
Article Abstract:
Quantel is scheduled to launch the first integrated server-based editing newsroom system in the world. The integrated newsroom, named Inspiration, will allow journalists to edit video, audio and text almost immediately for air. Quantel will demonstrate its new newsroom at the IBC show in Amsterdam in September 1998.
