Comparative statics derivatives with nonlinear preferences
Article Abstract:
Extensive research is published in the expected utility literature on the rules for assigning the signs of comparative statics derivatives. The research shows that when expected utility does not hold, an additional term is needed to measure the change in the choice variable triggered by the local utility function's change in shape. Methods for assigning a sign for this shape effect are available in the expected utility literature on change in utility functions.

A general theory of separability for preferences defined on a countably infinite product space
Article Abstract:
A particular continuous utility function that is characterized by the existence of manifold coordinate spaces is discussed. The aspect of separability of this function over coordinate subsets is likewise discussed. Such separability can be measured where elements can be cleanly categorized through a utility tree with nodes that vary in complexity. The separability theory is seen as useful for infinite-horizon preferences research.

Homothetic preferences
Article Abstract:
The characteristics of upper partly continuous homothetic choices are discussed. Two definitions of homotheticity are presented. The continuity of homothetic choices are analyzed through a certain set of conditions. Among the conditions discussed are monotonicity or strict convexity. Conditions are also analyzed that result in the preferences being represented by a utility function having a homogeneity of degree one.
