General equilibrium and the theory of directed graphs
Article Abstract:
New results from the classical Arrow-Debreu theorem for a general equilibrium if the required assumption of positive endowments of all commodities by all consumers is eased off for a type of economic models where utility functions and manufacturing probability sets are restricted to certain forms are discussed. A direct graph that relates the origin of goods and profits to the consumers is drawn for every model, and it is confirmed that the existence of a competitive equilibrium is akin to the strong connectedness of the graph.
