On the rate of return to schooling quality
Article Abstract:
A study on the apparent return to school quality is conducted, based on factors such as use of schools to support parental labor supply, parental concern over sibling equity and consumption benefits of students. Literature from Heckman, Layne-Farrar and Todd (1996), Betts (1996), Grogger (1996) and Hanuschek, Rivkin and Taylor (1996) are analyzed. Results showed the importance of micro level time diary and data on human capital formation in both classrooms and families.

Female labor supply with a discontinuous, nonconvex budget contraint: incorporation of part-time/full-time wage differential
Article Abstract:
The combination of the part-time/full-time wage differential into an empirical labor supply prototype for women in the US leads to a distinct discontinuous, nonconvex budget constraint. The complete structural representation of the budget constraint is found to conform more suitably than the alternative prototypes appraised. The findings can be applied to the more common analysis of tied wage-hours contracts.
