Unemployment insurance and unemployment over time: an analysis with event history data
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the reemployment duration outcome of individuals via the reduced-form and the structural form of an unemployment reemployment labor market history model is presented. The model is used to determine the effects of unemployment insurance on an individual's employment status after a period of unemployment. A weak positive relationship is established between reemployment duration and unemployment benefit generosity as seen in reduced form estimates.

Explaining bank failures: deposit insurance, regulation, and efficiency
Article Abstract:
Microeconomic analysis was applied to analyze banking behavior in the 1920s. Focus was given to Kansas banks during 1910-28 to determine bank failure causes and compare conditions for insured and uninsured banks. Deposit insurance and technical efficiency showed better results in predicting failure compared to traditional financial ratios. Insured banks exhibited higher chances for failure.
