A case experience of new product introduction within a once-traditional subcontract manufacturing environment

Article Abstract:

Velden Engineering (UK) Ltd, a privately owned company specializing in precision subcontract engineering, benefited from the efforts of its management team to facilitate the development of its new product line. Because of the increase in sales volumes, Velden needs to formalize all New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to prevent disruptions for improved process lead times and productivity so as to remain competitive. There is then a need to reexamine the design for medium and large-scale manufacture and assembly.
