An investigation into the effects of ISO 9000 on participants' attitudes and job performance
Article Abstract:
Companies are now adapting ISO 9000, which is a set of five worldwide standards that establish requirements for quality management for business enterprises to remain competitive in the global market. ISO 9000 is being used by the 12-nation European Economic Community. Results of a study on the effects of ISO 9000 on employees show that quality of worklife of participants improved, including employee productivity, product quality, export sales and customer satisfaction with the introduction and proper implementation of the quality management program of ISO 9000.

The perceived impact of the benchmarking process on organizational effectiveness

Benchmarking serves as a vital tool for achieving and sustaining competitive advantage. It also enables firms to easily assess its present condition in relation to its set goals and objectives. In addition, such move serves as a measure in an organization's effort towards improvement. Benchmarking also provides support to budgeting, strategic and capital planning of an organization. Furthermore, it entails awareness of ethical and legal issues which act as guidelines for both benchmarking partners towards mutual attainment of objectives.

A comparison of attitudes of Spanish and American quality assurance managers
Article Abstract:
The attitudes of quality assurance managers from Spain and the United States are similar and insufficiently informed of total quality management (TQM) principles. There is substantial agreement about productivity, service quality, product quality, regulation, liability, labor costs, materials costs, capital and labor relations. However, further education about TQM would benefit both countries.
