Boeing plots C-130 break-in
Article Abstract:
The Boeing Company in 2006 has worked out C-130 Total Life Extension (TLE) programme that would expand the service life of Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules airlifters by 30 years by solving problems related to avionics, wiring, structures and systems. A novel, patent-pending Centre Wing Box (CWB) solution, a complete avionics modifications and compliant with 21st century civil aviation standards are the prime features included in the C-130 Avionics Modernisation Program (AMP) which would give the C-130 owners a series of option for complete upgrade and modifications.
