CAE Electronics has found success as the world's leading provider of real- time simulation and real-time control systems for a wide range of high technology fields, including space systems, commercial and military flight simulators, naval platform management, among others. Products include the Integrated Platform Management System, On-Board Training Systems, Fire Detection and Control Systems, Integrated CCTV and Personnel Locations Systems. The company is currently working on a contract to supply and integrate the Whole Boat Controls abd Instrumentation (C&I) in the Royal Navy's new ASTUTE Class Submarines as well as on a contract for the German Navy's new F124 Frigates.

"High level of Hellenic aerospace industry makes cooperation successful"

DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (DASA) Hellas AG Pres Georgios Paterakis noted that his firm is developing closer ties with Greek firms and especially with the Hellenic aerospace industry. Its strategic alliance with the Hellenic aerospace industry has paved the way for the latter to participate in numerous DASA projects. Paterakis said that the work would cover upgrade programs for military aircraft, aircraft and aircraft engine maintenance, civil/military aircraft equipment production or co-production and military electronics/defense system manufacturing or co-manufacturing.

Defense electronics company Elettronica SpA of Rome, Italy, develops and produces sophisticated equipment and specialized systems for electronic warfare. The company's main current projects are the improvement of the RMB electronic intelligence system, improvement of the HORNISSE mobile ECM system, participation in the NH-90 ESM program, involvement in the EF-2000 EURO DASS programs, development of AWACS testing equipment and simulators for EW training. Elettronica is projecting an increase in sales of around DB25 million 2002.
