Carrier "entente cordiale" takes shape

Article Abstract:

The Defense Ministers from France and Britain signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 6 March 2006 for a formal exchange of information regarding the design of the future aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy and the French Navy. The new developments in the Future Aircraft Carrier (CVF) and the PA2 (Deuxieme Porte Avions, 2ns Aircraft Carrier) project are discussed.

Non-lethal weapons revisited

Article Abstract:

Contemporary military operations are more often than not aimed at restoring peace and stability. Different types of non-lethal weapons are currently in use but their effects on human beings are not yet known fully and hence the challenges weapon developers face are to separate targets from onlookers, not to harm non-combatants and to stop suicide bombers.

A new carrier for the Italian Navy

Article Abstract:

The Italian Navy's new carrier program begins its procurement phase by approving the largest multi-purpose light aircraft carrier to be built in Italy since WW2. The ship will cost 900 million Euro for the platform, to be commissioned in 2007.
