Jack Cronan, Vice President of the DD(X) program for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) talks about his responsibility for integrating cross-company capability to execute on DD(X), the next generation surface combatant ship, which is being developed by the U.S. Navy. DD(X) is not a research and development program but a Navy ship design and construction program and one of the real advantages of DD(X) is the Peripheral Launching Vertical Launching System (PVLS).
