EADS seeks a sense of terra cognita for A400M with trials of low-level autopilot

Article Abstract:

EADS Military Air Systems hopes to start customer evaluations of a terrain-masking low-level flight (TMLLF) feature being developed for the Airbus Military A400M transport aircraft in the later part of 2007. The system would be designed to make maximum use of terrain masking as the aircraft moves to a drop zone or a forward operating airstrip at low level, which would enhance the autopilot.
