Greece signs agreement for purchase of 50 Lockheed Martin F-16 aircraft

The Letter of Offer and Acceptance signed by the Greek and US governments in Jan 2000 allows Greece to purchase 50 new F-16 aircraft from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. The F-16 Block 50+ won over other fighter airplanes, including the F-15E, Eurofighter, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi 27. The total procurement package, which includes mission equipment and support provisions, is worth about $2.1 billion. Under the agreement, Greece has an option to buy 10 additional F-16s.

New cockpit displays
Article Abstract:
L-3 Communications' Display Systems unit has been chosen to supply the ASA-82 pilot and co-pilot replacement displays for the S-3B aircraft in a contract awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point. The contract, which is valued at more than $10.8 million, requires the unit to build ruggedized, high resolution, active matrix liquid crystal flat panel displays. The cockpit displays will be utilized for precision targeting, tactical plots and viewing sensor data.
