Hungary lands JAS 39 Gripens

Article Abstract:

Sweden's Defence Minister Leni Bjorklund formally handed over the first five Saab JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft to her Hungarian counterpart, Ferenc Juhasz, at the Kecskemet Air Base, near Budapest, on 30 March 2006. The Gripens, three single-seat JAS 39C and a pair of two-seat JAS 39D trainers assigned to the Hungarian Air Force's 59th Tactical Fighter Wing at Kecskemet, actually arrived in country on 21st march.

Enhanced FCS computer runs Taiwan's upgraded F-CK-1C

Article Abstract:

The Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF) plans to use a new 32-bit digital flight control computer from BAE Systems to upgrade the existing Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) fleet as well as for new-build aircraft, and the prototype of the upgraded F-CK-1C has completed its first flight. The 32-bit computer symbolizes a substantial advance in processing power and control capability over the obsolete 16-bit computer.

World tour will define T-6B configuration

Article Abstract:

The T-6B, an enhanced T-6A Texan II trainer that was selected as the US Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS), was demonstrated to all bidders for the UK's Military Flying Training System (MFTS) as well as Royal Air force Pilots. The T-6B is currently on a world tour after which the company expects to be able to define the baseline configuration by the end of 2005.
