ICBM shield: 20 years and megabucks later, doubts remain
Article Abstract:
The U.S. government's goal of building a missile defense shield will be partly achieved when eight anti-missile interceptors are sealed in their silos in Alaska and California in readiness to shoot down long-range enemy missiles flying towards the United States. However, question remains whether after 20 years and $100 billion the defense system will be effective.
