Integrating global missile defense

Article Abstract:

The US military is developing and launching interceptor systems to detect and destroy the complex area of missile threats at all levels. The US Strategic Command, USSTRATCOM has established the Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense (JFCC IMD) at Schriever Air Force Base, which aims at integrating and synchronizing missile defense system globally and protect the nation from incoming missile threats.

Javelin

Article Abstract:

The US Army describes the Javelin missile as a medium-range, manportable, shoulder-launched, fire-and-forget, anti-mirror weapon system that provides a highly formidable capability able to defeat all known armor threats for the dismounted close fight. Consisting of a 21.6-pound missile and 14.1-pound command launch unit (CLU), the Javelin has an effective range of less than 75 meters to more than 2,500 meters.
