Translational crime proves problematic in Pacific Islands

Article Abstract:

The Pacific Islands are facing problems with the establishment of transnational organized crime, which is fed by illegal migration. The Pacific Translational Crime Network and the Pacific Transnational Crime Co-ordination Centre in Suva, Fiji, are trying to curtail illicit drugs transit through the Pacific Island countries.

The Army of the Republic of Macedonian (ARM) is modernized by abandoning traditional military structures in order to meet Skopje's aim of joining NATO. The different ways in which the radical changes will enhance security in the country and in the wider region are examined.
