JCB moves US Army HMEEs toward delivery
Article Abstract:
The first pre-production examples of the US Army's new High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE), ordered in 2005 from UK manufacturer JCB, are due to be delivered in the second half of 2006 for production validation trials. Powered by a 149 kW Cummins ISB 02 diesel driving through a ZF Ergopower transmission, the HMEE has a maximum road speed of 88.5 km/h, enabling it to keep pace with military convoys.

JCB reveals US Army's HMEE vehicle at IDEX exhibition
Article Abstract:
The fifth High Mobility Engineering Excavator (HMEE) with the A and B- kit add-on armour packages went on show at the IDEX 2007. JCB also plans to have the High Mobility Utility Vehicle (HMUV) with a maximum speed in excess of 100Km/h on show at the Defense Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) with other variants like ambulance and troop carriers with specially adapted containers.
