Joint Strike Fighter: Joint vision or joint illusion
Article Abstract:
The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is the product of the Marine Corps' vision to come up with an affordable and more effective replacement to the US' aging strike aircraft. The fighter aircraft is projected to phase out the AV-8B Harrier and the F/A-18 Hornet sometime in 2008. However, although the aircraft is expected to be more serviceable and supportable, there are concerns that the Corps might be relying heavily on a product that might not be able to support some of its ground combat missions.

The case of seaplanes: a fresh look at an old tool for OMFTS sustainment
Article Abstract:
Seaplanes offer the US military a possible alternative for operational maneuvers from the sea. These types of planes, which do not require a flight deck nor a landing strip, can be made big enough in order to provide enough capability to deliver bulk cargo to resupply forces over land. Seaplanes, whose designs can be adapted to new technology such as tiltrotors, will also be valuable assets when the US finds it difficult to get permission to operate from other nation's airstrips.

Artillery ammunition resupply in OMFTS
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the theory that sea-based logistics cannot support artillery which is driving concepts for expeditionary fire support. Logistics math was used to examine the impact of artillery ammunition resupply on logistics in operational maneuver from the sea. Results suggest that the commander has plenty of options for the employment and resupply of his artillery which has a certain cost in terms of airlift.
