Jordan moves ahead with Al-Hussein Hybrid Turret 120 mm smoothbore troop trial

Article Abstract:

Announcement at the SOFEX exhibition in Amman in March 2006 stated that the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) had placed a development contract with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) for four pre-series examples of Challenger 1 tanks fitted with the Al Hussein Hybrid Turret (AHT). This incorporates a 120 mm L50 smoothbore gun made by RUAG of Switzerland and an improved fire-control system (IFCS) developed by Raytheon Technical Services Company of the US.
