Leadership when handling our fallen Marines: A grim duty that requires positive leadership

Article Abstract:

An officer in charge of the personnel retrieval and processing (PRP) detachment in Iraq emphasizes that positive leadership is essential to enable Marines in the unit look in proper perspective the duty of handling human remains in the battlefield. Proper training should be provided to prevent Marines falling victim to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and inculcate in them a suitable grieving for the lost, but also a detachment mixed with pride of duty done for the nation.

Marine aviation doctrine: The McCutcheon-Miller vertical assault origins and legacy

Marine aviation doctrine is required to support the quick response expeditionary warfare mission on the ground. Gen. Keith McCutcheon understood the need for new and different aircraft platforms to support the developing mission requirements and handed the task of procurement to a junior officer Tom Miller.

A time for reckoning; a decade's worth of cuts in aviation requires a remedy

Article Abstract:

Marine Corps aviation traditionally has been knows for its effectiveness in combat, but there have been significant cuts in the aviation squadrons since the Gulf War. Perhaps it is time for the Reserve squadrons to be integrated into the Total Force.
